Viborg Animation Festival inspiration-be brave.

Updated: 6 days ago

Viborg Animation festival

After a meeting with Lars and Helle I was given a pass to the Viborg Animation festival and attended some of the sessions. It was incredible to see the amount of international creatives attend the event and Viborg came alive with incredible talent. Viborg is a UNESCO creative city within the media arts and this event highlights the respect that people have for both UNESCO, The animation workshop, VIA university and Viborg as a creative city. This is one of the reasons why I moved to Viborg. It is to be amongst Denmark's creatives and immerse myself in the culture of this.

This festival invigorated me to continue exploring the visuals of Christmas Peace. In one of the sessions one of the speakers mentioned we have to be brave and step outside what has always been done to create new exciting visuals to stimulate our audiences. I took this onboard wholeheartedly.

It was so incredible to experience groups of gaming organizations, animation experts all discussing the advancements in technology, audience needs and the future of creative arts in regard to Ai advancements.

I couldn't attend as many events as I wanted due to other priorities but next year I will be setting aside more time to immerse myself in this event and meet some like minded creatives.

Lars and I had another meeting and Lars wanted to know if I could do some more illustrations. We looked over a couple of other children's books as guides and wondered what it would be like if I created Nisse headers for each chapter.

Christmas Peace chapter header Nisse illustrations.
Nisse header designs all 24 in the book are different.

I went home and researched Nisse throughout history and again decided I needed to create my own kind of Nisse for the headers.
